Stahl Sheaffer created a flyover video from the LiDAR scan we conducted along the roadway during field scoping, using our colorized MX-2 point cloud data.
​Stahl Sheaffer also teamed with Stantec and was selected for State Project U331-19-13.24 00, Beechurst Ave at 6th Street Spot Improvements, in Monongalia County. Stahl Sheaffer will be providing surveying services, utilizing mobile LiDAR to collect data for this Preliminary Investigation & Engineering (PIE) Study for intersection improvements and roadway widening along US Route 19 (Beechurst Avenue).
Stahl Sheaffer Opens New Office in Charleston, WVStahl Sheaffer Engineering announces the opening of its newest office location in Charleston, West Virginia. As a result of rapid expansion in the region, Stahl Sheaffer now has three offices throughout West Virginia, including a staff of 12 in Morgantown and a field office in Ravenswood. The new office will be managed by Jamie Williams, P.E., and will include additional engineers, designers, LiDAR mapping technicians, and a LiDAR analyst to support new and ongoing projects in West Virginia. The new location will help Stahl Sheaffer provide even faster response times and greater support to our current and new clients, including the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways. Stahl Sheaffer’s newest mobile mapping unit is a survey-grade Leica Pegasus:Two unit, which provides data suitable for engineering design purposes. The high resolution and extremely fast operating rate allow us to collect much more detailed data at higher speeds, which in turn enables us to perform more long-range, high-end mapping projects such as interstate corridor mapping and state highway survey contracts.
Stahl Sheaffer Engineering is seeking candidates for a Structural Engineering Designer position for our Building Structures Department. The position will include field inspections, design, preparation of specifications and construction administration.
Stahl Sheaffer was selected by The City of Williamsport to provide design services for the rehabilitation of Brandon Park in November 2017. Stahl Sheaffer’s Land Development Department, led by Project Manager Robyn Froehlich, P.E., LEED AP, recently began conceptual design in coordination with City staff. The project is anticipated to be finalized in the spring and is scheduled for construction summer 2018. Design aspects of the project include the development of a nature play space with educational stormwater management component, expansion of existing parking areas and pathways to accommodate for ADA accessibility, improvements to bench placements and site lighting, and the resealing and replacement of court lights for the six existing tennis courts. As the lead consultant, Stahl Sheaffer will carry the contract to completion, along with BSA / LA Landscape Architect, Brian Auman, and Nature Play Consultant, Elizabeth Marcello. Brandon Park will provide the community with an iconic public space and a recreational destination. Centrally located in the City of Williamsport, the park ties together the adjacent neighborhoods with the nearby downtown and universities and provides a quiet escape from the urban landscape. Stahl Sheaffer also recently completed survey, site design, and construction administration for five new tennis courts at the Community Park in South Williamsport.
